Fall 2003: Enwave
is a Toronto based district energy corporation providing heating and
cooling services to over 130 office buildings in the City's downtown
core. The 50,000 ton DC system uses cold energy from Lake Ontario to
cool buildings in downtown Toronto reducing energy usage by 75%. The
system meets up to 40 per cent of the air conditioning requirements for
Toronto's downtown core and eliminates 40,000 tons of carbon dioxide,
leading to lower levels of pollution.
