Lease MakaiLay
Makai has recently introduced a lease-to-own option for our At-Sea Cable Lay Management software, MakaiLay. The lease-to-own option allows installers to try MakaiLay with minimal upfront costs and no commitment with the option to back-out of the lease at any time.

In addition, 100% of the leasing costs will be credited towards the purchase cost if a full license is purchased within the first 6 months following the lease period, and 50% of leasing costs if purchased within the first 18 months following the lease period.

Installers may lease MakaiLay for one-off projects or initial trials, allowing the installer to try MakaiLay and learn what has made it the world’s #1 cable lay management software for over 25 years.

Lease MakaiLay

The Control Loop: MakaiLay logs and processes data from the ship’s instruments. The 3D Cable model then computes the cable payout and navigation instructions to maintain the desired bottom conditions. MakaiLay then issues these instructions to the helmsman and the cable operator in real-time.
Leasing Rates
100% of the leasing costs will be credited towards the purchase cost if a full license is purchased within the first 6 months following the lease period, and 50% of leasing costs if purchased within the first 18 months following the lease period.

  • First month: 15% of the total software cost
  • Following months: 10% of the total software cost/month
  • **Note that this is only the cost for leasing the software. Other costs like commissioning, training, at-sea support, etc. will be charged separately as required.

Testimonials
“We are encouraged to see that newer clients are adopting MakaiLay as they get into more challenging installations. Our recently initiated lease-to-own option has made it easier for new clients to try the software on a lay for a low cost, as was the case with Pt. Bina Nusantara Perkasa’s (BNP, Indonesia) cable ship Nusantara Explorer, and both of KT Submarine’s (KTS, Korea) cable ships Segero and Responder.”
– Dr. Venkata Jasti, Manager-Submarine Cable Systems, Makai Ocean Engineering, Inc.

“To provide more accurate cable installation services to our client, we started using MakaiLay in our most recent cable lays, and we are impressed with its capabilities. Especially useful is the Look-Ahead feature that allows us to keep the cable on the desired route and to maintain the correct bottom slack by issuing appropriate instructions to the cable engine and the DP operators. In addition, the lease-to-own option made it very easy for our engineers to start using MakaiLay for multiple projects, including a trans-pacific system and one in ultra-deep waters. Using MakaiLay allowed us to install these systems at faster speeds while maintaining as-designed bottom slack, greatly reducing at-sea costs.”
– Mr. Moon, Engineer-In-Charge, KT Submarine.
